1. AMPEROX M50

Description:
Due to the relatively unstable nature of organic peroxides a loss of quality can be detected over a period of time. To minimize the loss of quality, we recommend a maximum storage temperature (Ts max.) for each organic peroxide product. For MEKP Ts max.= 250C.
When stored under the recommended storage conditions, will remain within the limit for a period of at least three months after delivery.
Applications
- AMPEROX M50 is a general purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) for the curing of unsaturated polyester resins in the presence of a cobalt accelerator at room and elevated temperatures.
- The curing system AMPEROX M50 with cobalt accelerator is particularly suitable for the curing of gelcoat resins, laminating resins, lacquers and castings, moreover the manufacture of light resistant parts may be possible contrary to the curing system benzoyl peroxide/amine accelerator
- Practical experience throughout many years has proven that by the guaranteed low water content and the absence of polar compounds in AMPEROX M50, this peroxide is very suitable in GRP products for e.g. marine applications.
- For room temperature application it is necessary to use together with a cobalt accelerator (e.g Accelerator 6).
M50 Depending on working conditions, the following peroxide and accelerator dosage levels are recommended.
Safety and Handling:
- Keep containers tightly closed. Store and handle AMPEROX M50 in a dry well-ventilated place away from sources of heat or ignition and direct sunlight. Never weigh out in the storage room.
- Avoid contact with reducing agents (e.g. amines), acids, alkalis and heavy metal compounds (e.g. accelerators, driers and metal soaps).
Dosing:
- Depending on working conditions, the following peroxide and accelerator dosage levels are recommended:
- AMPEROX M50 : 1-4 phr
- Accelerator 6 : 0.5-3 phr
Packaging and Transport :
- The standard packaging is a 30 KG HDPE can for peroxide solution.
- In Asia Pacific the standard packaging is a 30 | HDPE can for 20 kg peroxide solution.
- Both packaging and transport meet the international regulations.
- For the availability of other packed quantities contact our representative.
- AMPEROX M50 is classified as Organic peroxide type D; liquid; Division 5.2; UN 3105: PG II.

3. Tert-Butyl Peroxybenzoate (TBPB)

Description:
Tert-Butyl Perbenzoate (CAS No. 614-45-9) is an organic peroxide belonging to the peroxy ester class, with the molecular formula C₆H₅–COOOC(CH₃)₃ and a molecular weight of 194.2 g/mol. It contains 8.24% active oxygen, calculated as peroxide oxygen. This compound is commonly used as a free-radical initiator for unsaturated polyester resins, where it provides controlled decomposition and efficient curing performance. It is also known by the names tert-butyl peroxybenzoate and t-butyl ester of peroxybenzoic acid.
Applications
- Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) is used for the curing of unsaturated polyster resins in the presence of cobalt octoate accelerator at room and elevated temperatures.
- For room temperature application it is necessary to use MEKP togetherwith a cobalt accelerator (e.g.Accelerator).
- This catalyst gives much faster gel time required for GRP pipe manufacturing.
Safety and Handling:
- Rotate stock using the oldest material first. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use Personal Protective Equipment.
- Keep containers closed to prevent contamination. Keep away from sources of heat, sparks or flame. Keep away from reducing agents (e.g. amines), acids, alkalies and heavy metal compounds (e.g. accelerators, driers, metal soaps).
- Do not add to hot solvents or monomers as a violent decomposition and/or reaction may result. Keep in original container.
Storage:
- Due to relatively unstable nature of organic peroxides a loss of quantity can be detected over a period of time.
- To minimize loss of quantity, we recommend storage temperature for TBPB between 20 –
25°C.
Packaging and Transport :
- The standard packaging is a 30 Kg HDPE container.
- TBPB is classified as Organic peroxide type C, liquid, Division 5.2 UN 3103
4. Benzoyl Peroxide Paste (BPO Paste)

Description:
Benzoyl Peroxide Paste (BP Paste) is a diacyl organic peroxide used as a polymerization initiator and curing agent. It has the chemical formula (C₆H₅CO₂)₂, molecular weight 242.2 g/mol, and CAS No. 94-36-0. Supplied in paste form for safe handling, it is commonly used in resin and rubber applications.
Applications
- It’s a white thixotropic paste used as an initiator: for curing of unsaturated polyester resins .
- Main application is curing of putties at abient tempe rature in combination with amine accelerators
Hazards, Storage and Handling:
- When working with organic peroxides always wear eye protection and protective gloves.
Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure . - If contact with eyes and skin occurs, flush with copious amount of water for at least 15 min. Call a physician.
- Extinguish fire from a safe distance with copious amounts of water, foam or dry chemical
Keep container tightly closed. - Keep away from combustible materials, heat sparks and open flame.
- Above 55°C spontaneous decomposition may occur under conditions of restricted heat transfer.
